IIM-Kozhikode makes foray into Jammu and Kashmir; Times of India, July 30, 2013

NEW DELHI: Brand IIM will make a unique journey from Kerala to Kashmir, as the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode had decided to make a modest start by opening two satellite centres - one each in Jammu and Kashmir - for its executive PG programme. The idea is to expand the higher education system to areas which remain neglected. According to IIM, Kozhikode director "it's time to look within before going global," which is why the IIM is setting up its centre in J&K, "where nobody wants to go". Admissions to these centres will start from August 2013 for the 2013-14 batch and aims to make premium executive management education accessible to working executives of the region. The IIM has also proposed to the J&K government for a "mini campus" in the state.
